Kids’ Public Workshops

Do you have a child between the ages of 8 and 14 who would like to try playing taiko? Learn taiko basics in a fun and engaging 90-minute workshop, taught by San Jose Taiko’s staff and Performing Company. After hearing a brief history of taiko, participants learn a song based on fundamental stance, rhythms, and technique. No taiko experience is necessary.

NOTE: This workshop is NOT for currently enrolled Junior Taiko students.

COVID-19 policy for all classes

• Masks are optional inside the SJT studio.

• We no longer require proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative rapid test result.

• Anyone feeling sick is encouraged to stay home.

• All SJT personnel and instructors have been fully vaccinated.
