Senior Programs

San Jose Taiko, in conjunction with Yu Ai Kai, offers senior taiko classes that focus on balance, coordination, and memorization. The curriculum is designed for seniors, but any adult is welcome to attend. No taiko experience or registration is necessary. If you'd like to take the class, all you have to do is show up!

Classes alternate monthly between Yu Ai Kai's Akiyama Wellness Center and the San Jose Taiko studio.

This class occasionally performs for local community events under the name ASAGAO TAIKO. They have performed at Japantown Immersive, the Japanese American Museum of San Jose, San Jose City Hall, Yu Ai Kai, and various San Jose community centers.
